Apprentice Application Process

When Do You Accept Applications?

We will be accepting requests for the Apprenticeship Program:

Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 7:30 am - 3:00 pm

Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 7:30 am - 3:00 pm

Friday, June 14, 2019 from 7:30 am - 3:00 pm

Monday, June 17, 2019 from 7:30 am - 3:00 pm

Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 7:30 am - 3:00 pm

How Do I Apply?

An individual must apply in person at the Training Department located at 1969 Triad Road, St. Jacob, IL, on the above mentioned dates, and bring his or her valid Illinois driver's license to request to take the Apprentice Evaluation Test. Requests will not be taken at the Local 520 Hall in Granite City.

What are the Minimum Qualifications Needed to Apply?

Age: All applicants must be at least 18 years of age; proof of age is required.

Driver's License: All applicants must possess a valid Illinois driver's license and maintain such for the duration of the apprenticeship.

Education: All applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certification and be able to provide a copy of the transcripts.

Geographic Residence: All applicants must be a resident of one of the following Illinois counties: Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Fayette, Green, Jefferson, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison (includes both sides of the Mississippi River), Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Randolph (includes Kaskaskia Island, Horse Island and Crane Island), St. Clair, and Washington.

Legal Residency: All applicants must be a legal resident of the United States, and, if not a citizen of the United States, you must be actively pursuing steps to secure such citizenship. You must be able to provide a copy of your birth certificate.

Physical Ability: All applicants must have the necessary physical ability to do the manual work of the trade. All applicants must pass a physical examination and drug screening by a licensed facility, after selection and prior to placement on the job.
